All roads lead to Waterfall

Your destination of choice.

Centrally located in the heart of Gauteng, South Africa’s economic hub, Waterfall, is the country’s fastest-growing lifestyle and business precinct. And it is proving an adaptation of the old Roman adage true; that all roads do indeed lead to Waterfall

Situated between Pretoria and Johannesburg, the political and economic capitals of the country, Waterfall is redefining the term ‘centrally located’ and is ideally positioned as the new, central, growth node in Gauteng.

World-class Public Transport

Waterfall boasts access via world-class public transport infrastructure. For over ten years now, the Gautrain has offered its commuters safe, reliable, and convenient public transport services, dropping them only 4 km away from the central business district. What’s more, the Gautrain has two dedicated Gautrain busses that circulate during the week through Waterfall City and surrounding residential estates every 15 minutes. All bus stops are located within a five-minute walk of any building in Waterfall City and commuters can be assured to get to where they need to be safely and on time.

In addition to this, Waterfall is also home to the first 5-Star Green Star-rated taxi holding facility in the country. Taxi commuters have access to two sheltered, Wi-Fi-enabled Taxi Super Stops at Mall of Africa, accommodating 36 minibus taxis each. Single trip taxis between Waterfall City and greater Tembisa, Midrand, Alexandra, Randburg and Johannesburg CBD also operate within the Waterfall area.

The Mall of Africa, South Africa’s largest shopping Mall ever built in a single phase, juxtaposes the serene surroundings, and serves as the flagship building within the precinct. Housing over 130 000m2 of retail space, and over 300 shops, many of which are flagship stores, the Mall of Africa welcomes thousands of visitors through its doors daily. Consequently, all transport routes and modes of transport have been optimised to manage these flows efficiently, ensuring faster and more effective access to this popular commercial and lifestyle destination.

Filling up to move about

Waterfall residents, tenants, visitors and commuters driving in and around Waterfall can fill up at their fuel station of choice. With various routes into the city, Waterfall has strategically placed petrol stations throughout the development and is in the process of building more. With a BP, Engen and three Sasol fuel stations to currently choose from, commuters are spoilt for choice – and depending on which rewards programme they are a member of, can rest assured that they will not lose out on any loyalty points.

Don’t get stuck in a ‘jam’

Waterfall has made significant investments in the surrounding road and transport infrastructure, ensuring that the precinct is easily accessible and tailored for your business and lifestyle transport needs. Triangulated between Kyalami, Midrand and Woodmead, the precinct is accessible from Pretoria via the N1 highway and R55, and from Sandton and Johannesburg via the M1, N1 and N3 highways, as well as the R55.

While the Allandale Road exit, which connects to the N1 freeway, was upgraded to create the first free-flowing intersection of its kind and scale in Africa, the building of the Bridal Veil Bridge across the N1 has also drastically improved traffic flow in this area. And commuters travelling from Johannesburg will be pleased to know that the Woodmead interchange is currently being upgraded. Even better, construction of the K60 is also in the pipeline – this is an investment aimed at further alleviating traffic congestion. All of Waterfall’s infrastructure plans are designed to consider future traffic flow and regional growth. This ease of access is one of several reasons why so many families as well as blue-chip firms have chosen to call Waterfall home.

Highways and skyways

From a logistics and supply chain perspective, the proximity of Waterfall Logistics Hub to major highways and arterial roads make it the ideal location for businesses looking for functional and conveniently located spaces that ensure they never miss a delivery. Waterfall is also within 30 minutes’ drive from O.R. Tambo, Lanseria and Grand Central airports, making trips to and from these aviation hubs a virtual breeze. And if travel by helicopter is more your speed, Waterfall is home to South Africa’s only heliport, providing hangar space and helicopter charters for VIPs.
